My hero is Jeremiah Workman. I chose him for his heroic action on December 24, 2004 when he helped rescue other marines pinned down by insurrectionists. He risked his life to save others knowing the risks but did it anyway. He could have died but he didn’t let that stop him. He saved others but at the expense of three other marines. After the rescue he was awarded the Navy Cross. Some other awards that he has earned were the Purple Heart Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.

Jeremiah Workman was inspired by the other people in his squad because he had to set an example for them. He then knew he needed to set an example and how He could set an example. So he stormed the building by himself and freed a few of those trapped in the building.

He made a difference by going first and helped free others and protect them from the enemy. Doing so he set an example for those with him while he helped the other marines. After that he rallied his squad and stormed the building to free the rest of marines trapped in the building.

Jeremiah Workman had lead others against the insurrectionists and saved others on that night. On that night he was inspirational, encouraging, and helpful. He was promoted to Sgt.
