Jeffrey Buttle, the Canadian Olympic figure skater, grew up in a town called Sudbury. At the age of 2 he started to take his first steps on the ice. And at 6 he started to compete. In between his busy schedule with school, skating and friends he spends time with his trainers and working with choreographer David Wilson.

In the World Competition Buttle ended up receiving eighth place because of his musicality and artistry. In 2005, he earned his first World Championships medal. In 2008 he won World Championships gold and was the first Canadian man to win the title in 11 years. Not only does he figure skate he was also invited to the Juno Awards, where he walked the red carpet, and after that he was a guest on Air Farce Live, Canada's number one comedy show.

Jeffrey's commitment to skating is shown by all of the medals he has won. As the national Canadian team captain he represents Skate Canada's official advisory committee. Not only does he focus on skating but education is also important to him. "He has been a student at the University of Toronto, where he studied chemical engineering." Since the Olympics came , Jeffrey had to put his education aside and train harder for the upcoming events, but since things have changed he will soon be back to school.

Jeffrey Buttle is my hero because he has made many accomplishes in his many years of figure skating. I myself have been skating for 9 years and I think that I have put a lot of effort into skating every day for 4 hours a day and I could not imagine being Jeffrey Buttle and being as committed as he is. Being able to just make it to the Olympics one day would be a dream but he has been on talk shows and put on the cover of "ten most beautiful people in figure skating". He is also a Canadian figure skater which makes him a hero to Canadians. Even when he was skating he was still able to budget his time for school, friends and many other things, which is just amazing! I honour Jeffrey Buttle and one day maybe I can be like him.
