Jackie Chan

by David from Glenbrook Middle School

"A lot of people ask me when I do a stunt, 'Jackie, are you scared?' Of course I'm scared. I'm not Superman.” - Jackie Chan

My hero is Jackie Chan, who was born April 7th, 1954. I chose Jackie Chan as my hero because he donated millions of dollars to his foundations for the young and elderly. Also, he became a famous actor and received many awards like the American Choreography Award. Jackie also created many foundations for Chinese people who are located in remote places.

The way Jackie was inspired in life is by going to the China Drama Academy, where he lived for 10 years. By going to China Drama Academy Jackie learned arts, acrobatics, singing, and acting. That is the main reason Jackie is so good at acting and all of his stunts. The coaches of his academy inspired him to do better in life.

Jackie Chan was married in 1982 to Lin Feng-Jiao. They also have a son named Jaycee Chan. Jaycee Chan is 26 years old and he is an actor, singer, composer, lyricist and guitarist. Lin Fang-Jiao is a Taiwanese actress.

Jackie Chan made a difference by donating millions of dollars to his foundations. The two major successful foundations that Jackie invented are the Charitable Foundation and the Dragon’s Heart foundation. The Charitable Foundation grants scholarships to kids in need. The Dragon’s Heart Foundation fulfills desperate needs of children and elderly in remote places. Jackie Chan is my symbolic hero.
