This is Malverde (google (photobucket)) |
I choose Jesus Malverde as a hero because I believe in him. Even though the Roman Catholic church hasn't and will never accept him as a saint, he is a saint to me and other people. Malverde is a heroe to many people in Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico, because he helped poor people. Malverde's good deeds led him to a tragic death. Rich folks consider him a threat who needed to disappear, and so he lived and helped the needy people by robbing the greedy rich people and giving it to the poor.

Jesus Malverde was from Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico. Malverde was born in 1870. He lived during the reign of Mexico's longest running dictator Porfirio Diaz. During this period, known in history as the Porfiriato, was marked by the influx of foreigners in Mexico, a time of progress for the richest Mexicans but a time of poverty and despair for the lowest classes. Some people say Malverde was a railroad worker, others say he was a construction worker, but no one knows who he really was. People knew him as a bandit who robbed from the rich, and gave to the poor. Among the rich folks he is known as a villain and a bandit, but among the poor people he was known as a saint, an angel, a hero.

Jesus Malverde lived in Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico. There is not much information about how he was in life, if he was married, and if he had kids, or if he was a rich man. All we know about him is that he dedicated himself to help the needy, asking them for nothing in return.
Malverde was born in Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico in around 1870's, he died in 1909.
This person is important to me because I grew up believing in him, praying to him every day, and night. He's my saint, my angel, and hero. Malverde performed miracles for me. I admire him so much for everything he did when he was alive, robbing rich people to help poor people. Malverde risked his life to help people, he was captured and hanged.
