Jeremy McGrath was easily one of the most popular motorcycle racers of the 1990s and maybe during his reign as the "King of Supercross." Video games featuring Jeremy McGrath were among the best sellers during the height of his popularity. He has been featured in many movies like The Great Outdoors and Terrafirma 2.

When McGrath was in his mid teens he was one of the top bmx racers in the nation but the sport started to get old so he was wanting to try a new kind of racing. His parents agreed that he should start a new racing career. McGrath had to support the main part of his soon-to-be championship titles by bagging groceries at the local supermarket. Even though most motorcross and supercross stars have started riding at very young ages, McGrath was able to use many of his racing tricks he’d learned in his bmx racing career.

Jeremy McGrath became one of my main heroes besides my family because he proved that most of the impossible can be done. He became one of my heroes because I had started to really race motocross and he was great in my mind because he had gotten 7 supercross titles, something no one else has ever accomplished.

While McGrath was becoming known as mainly a Supercross rider at the beginning part of his career, he had shown that he can master the outdoor nationals too. In 1991, he was ranked fifth in AMA 125 motocross and eighth in the class in 1992. McGrath started his new rein and had also begun to make his name known around the world when he won the Tokyo Supercross in 1992.

McGrath has now since retired from full-time Supercross and motocross racing, McGrath has continued his racing career after being inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame. He became one of the motocrossers to make their transition over to the newly formed AMA Supermoto Series in 2003. He and his wife, Kim, and his baby girl continue to live in Southern California. In July 2007, a bronze sculpture of McGrath doing his signature "Nac-Nac" stunt was unveiled at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. The sculpture was commissioned by Supercross series promoter Live Nation to honor the legendary rider.
