Jerry Rice was born in Starkville, Mississippi on October 3, 1962. When Jerry was born everyone new that he was born to play football. Jerry went to Nipomo Elementary School, Mississippi Middle School, B.L. Moore High School, and went to college at Mississippi Valley College.
Mississippi Valley College improved after Jerry came to the team. Mississippi Valley College had never won a title, but when Jerry came into the starting line-up the other teams had no chance of winning.
Jerry Rice was drafted out of college by the San Francisco 49ers. He stayed with them for 15 seasons, playing wide receiver. He ended his career with 1549 receptions, 22895 receiving yards and 197 touchdowns.

I think Jerry Rice is an inspiration, because he has overcome many obstacles like broken bones, the death of family members, and having to perform like all of the fans thought he should. He is also an inspiration to all young football players, and millions of other people. Many football players want to be just like him, because he has set multiple football records, and was and still is a great player.
