Joe Sakic? Who is this man you speak of? Well he is only the third best NHL hockey player of all time. I will talk about how he is the third best NHL player of all time and what team he played for. I will also say why he's a hero and a savior.

Joe Sakic played for my favorite team of all time, the Colorado Avalanche. He lead the Colorado Avalanche to the Stanley Cup the first year the Avalanche were a team, in 1996 against the Florida Panthers. They also won the Stanley cup in 2001 against the New Jersey Devils. Joe and their goalie Patrick Roy were the two players who helped the Avalanche Franchise the most. He played with the Swift Current Broncos in his junior years. He finished his career with 1641 points. He hung up his skates and called it a career in 2009 after great years with the Colorado Avalanche.

Joe Sakic was the third best player in the whole NHL. He was eighth in points, and had the best wrist shot in the NHL of all time. He was named player of the year 8 times. The statistics on NHL.com say that overall he was third best of all time, under Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. Lots of players looked up to him like Darcy Tucker and Peter Forseberg, Joe Sakic's best teammate. Now you see why he was the third best of all time.

Joe Sakic is one of the best heroes and saviors of all time. He was a hero for the Colorado Avalanche. In their first Stanley Cup game he scored the winning goal in overtime winning 1-0. He also scored the game winning goal in their second Stanley cup in 2001 winning 3-2 in overtime. I've looked up to him ever since I met him walking out of Rexall Place in Edmonton when I watched their game. They won that game 3-2 in a shootout
