Jean Clement

A hero to me is a person that is willing to do whatever it takes to please people and to take care of people and a person that makes sure everything is really ok and a person that does all of this just to see other people smile. a hero is somebody that will do things to help others without wanting something in return. My grand-father Jean Clement is one of my biggest heroes. He may not be superman and he may be 65 years old, but he is still my all time hero. He has supported my family for a long time and doesn't complain about it or ask for money back, he does it and feels good about it.

Jean Clement is a retired real estate agent and a former boxer from Alexandria Ontario, with an adoptive mother named Margaux who passed away a couple of years back. I never knew his father but my grand-father tells me a lot of stories about him and according to my family I am very similar to to my grand-father's father. When he was little he was always determined to get things done, he liked providing and helping people out, that is why he is very well known in Alexandria. He even has a street named after him (Clement St.). People always knew him as a hard worker because he was running 3 stores at the same time, he had a flower shop, a furniture store and a corner store. In that case everyone knew him because he owned the main corner store and everyone would always talk to him and people still always talk to him. He also did a lot of things to make Alexandria a better and safer town. Thanks to him Alexandria is now what it is somewhat because of him. He has never cared what people thought about him, he does what he wants and dresses the way he wants to and if people didn't like the way he was, it didn't bother him at all.

He is a vary giving person. For example, every time I would cut his lawn for him he would give me an extra 20$ if I did a good job and he always takes my whole family out for supper and he would always pay, even on his birthday he would want to pay but my mother wouldn't let him. He is also a very caring person, example: on Christmas my family had nothing to do so he decided to take us to a big hotel with various activities to do. He did all of this just because we weren't doing anything on Christmas Eve. He can't stand seeing people depressed because he is such a joyful and funny person that it hurts him to see people that are depressed or hurt inside. He walks around town in the middle of winter with a parka, mittens and a coat, because he had just gotten operated and he was always really cold.

My grandfather has supported my family since my older brother was born, he is the reason why I live in the big house that I live in now. Also, he paid for my dad's and mom's operation because she lives in the U.S.A and she didn't have enough money to pay for it herself at the time. My grand-father went through a lot. When he was younger he had practically nothing and he was working three jobs by the age of 11 and 4 years earlier his mother had left him with her best friend because she didn't have the money to raise him. At the age of 18 he married my grand-mother Suzanne Menard and they have been together since then. When he was little he would always set goals and wouldn't give up until he would obtain his goals.

Jean Clement is a real hero tome because I look up to people that are determined and devoted and he is a perfect example of those two things. I look up to him because he helped out my family a lot and has never said one negative thing about it. He is my true hero and he will always be and I will always remember him as my hero and i love him.
