Morelos

A hero is a person who is perseverant, who is a good person, and who saves people. We can admire a hero for fighting for independence, for progressing, and for having positive thoughts and courage.

I chose Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon as my hero, because he fought for the independence of Mexico, he was perseverant and he never thought of giving up.

He was born in the city of Valladolid, named Morelia in 1765, in his memory. He was a student of Hidalgo in San Nicolas College. He learned very much, and his teacher is another hero for Mexico, but he died to Nicupetaro, Guanajuato.

Morelos introduced himself in the fight for independence in the insurgent troop of Hidalgo in Charo. Mexican Revolutionary leader, Hidalgo, placed Morelos at the head of the army. Morelos was a new leader who demonstrated great military skills. Morelos showed his outstanding strategic abilities during the battles of Tixtla, Valedero, Chautla de la Sal, and Izucar. By the time that he was promoted to the rank of General-in-Chief, he was truly a hero.

He convened the first Congress in Chilpancingo, on September 13, 1813, and the famous Independence Charter was drawn up to proclaim the existence of the Mexican Republic. Morelos past away in 1815. I think we can learn from Morelos's fight for Mexican Independence. In our future, we can think like Morelos, and have ideas of being better.
