Kerrin Lee-Gartner (I made it.)

Kerrin Lee-Gartner is my hero. I chose Kerrin because she is my mom and I love her. I think my mom is very loving and kind. She is also very brave because she won the gold medal in the Olympics downhill skiing event. Now, I want to be like her and try for a gold medal. She was born in Roseland B.C. in 1966. She had a family of 5 kids--4 girls and 1 special boy. She had her 2 parents, Terry Lee and Jane Lee. Jane was a doctor and Terry was working for a big company in the town of Trail, B.C. My mom helps me in ski racing, and no matter if I am even hurt and can’t ski, she gets me doing exercises that I can do for skiing.

Gold Medal 1992

Kerrin is married to my dad, Max Gartner. He is also into skiing, but his main sport that he has been doing his whole life is soccer. He was on the German soccer team for the World Cup in Austria. A little bit after my dad started to coach ski racing, he met my mom. Soon after, they started to date and then they got married!!!

My mom always dreamed of a big family like her family of 5 kids, but she ended up as happy as a button with just me and my older sister, Riana Gartner!!! After me and my sister were born, we moved to Fernie to start our skiing!!!

After we had moved to Fernie, my mom started a hotel called Snow Creek Lodge and that’s where our cabin is. Once my sister and I were about 6 and 8, we moved back to Calgary. Now we live in Calgary Spring Bank and we have one great dog and three really cute cats.
