Keyshia Miesha Cole is her whole name, but her original name was Keyshia Miesha Johnson. Her name had gotten changed when she was about 2 years old. Keyshia was born in Oakland, California on October 15, 1981. Her name, as I bet you may think, wasn’t changed by marriage, but because of adoption. Her mother Francine (Frankie) Lon had given her away when Keyshia was only about 2 years old. She was given to Yvonne and Leon Cole. Although Keyshia was given away she had siblings, who she didn’t find out about until later in her life. She didn’t just have 1, but she had 7.
Keyshia is now an R&B singer. Her first experience with music was at age 12 with MC Hammer and 2Pac. Later on in her life, she moved to Los Angeles, because of catching her boyfriend cheating on her. The funny thing about this is after the move her she started her singing career!

In 2004, she got a record deal with A&M Records executive Ron Fair. It didn’t take long before Keyshia started working on her success; in 2005 her platinum debut The Way It Is was released. Her album Just Like You was released in 2007. Many of these songs have many other featured singers on her album, Just Like You, such as Diddy, Missy Elliott, and Lil’ Kim. She also has a show on BET called Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is. She has also been nominated for awards by BET, Vibe, Urban Music, Soul Train music, American Music, and the Grammys.
Keyshia is not just a good person for her talents, but she is also a good person for her big heart. I picked Keyshia Cole as my hero because she is always doing things for her family. For example, she helps her family financially in a big way. She takes them shopping for clothes that they would never have if she hadn’t bought it for them. She has also bought them, houses and cars. This is all because of her unconditional love for them.

I also picked Keyshia because she is active in the community. She has gotten an award from the Black Cotton Foundation for making positive contributions to the community; she was also part of the All-Star Charity Single. She has made so many contributions to the community that it makes me want to improve myself as a person. She is a very strong woman as a person, no one ever could hold her back from her dreams then or as much as they try now. She is a very good role model to me and the community around her. No one can say otherwise.
