Kat Von D

Kat Von D was born March 8, 1982 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Kat Von D's parents are Rene Drachenberg and Sylvia Galeano, and she has a brother, Michael and a sister, Karoline. When she turned four she moved to Colton, California. While living there she was very close with her grandmother and started playing the piano. Her grandmother was the one that got her into playing the piano and listening to great composers like Beethoven. This is also where she got her artistic side. At the age of 14 she got her first tattoo of an English "J" on her ankle. Then she realized her art ability. Then at the age of 16 she dropped out of school to become a tattoo artist. She starting working at Sin City Tattoo, a year and half later she went to Blue Bird Tattoo in Pasadena for a year, then to Red Hot Tattoo in Arcadia. She later then opened her shop in Los Angeles called High Voltage Tattoo. The struggles that Kat use to go through was depression, she came over it by doing tattoos and listening to people's stories. This made her stronger.
