My Hero's name is Kimberly Dawson. She was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Miss Dawson grew up in Calgary. She has a mom and a dad. Their names are Richard and Linda Dawson. Her dad worked as a commercial real estate lawyer in Calgary at a law firm called Blake Cassels and Grandon. Her mom worked at the Royal Bank before her daughter was born. After Linda decided to have kids, she stayed at home looking after them. She was a wonderful mother. She volunteered at her daughters' elementary school, attended cooking courses, and volunteered with animals. Yes Miss Dawson has one sibling. Her name is Joanna. She is three years older that Miss Dawson. There were subjects that interested her in school. They were Social Studies, Language Arts, and Art. She says the special events in her life were the falling of the Berlin Wall, and the end of the Cold War. Princess Diana's death and the terrorist attacks of September 11. Miss Dawson has had the dream of becoming a teacher since the age of six.

Miss Dawson's life is remarkable because she really enjoys and loves kids. She is always willing to help. I admire her especially because she works with children with disabilities. This takes great dedication, patience and understanding. The following shows strength of character in Miss Dawson. She is very patient, kind, and friendly. When you meet her you feel completely at ease. She seems to sincerely care, and to accept others. She shows dedication when she worked through her lunch hour to help kids who need extra instruction. Her positive attitude and manner encourages us to do our best. I think Miss Dawson is very intelligent as she earned the Science award in grade twelve. I admire her because, even though she struggled with math, she went on to become a teacher. This motivates kids to reach their goals. When Miss Dawson was younger, she was often thinking about what other people thought of her. She eventually learned that other people's opinions does not change who she is. She says, "Confidence truly comes with time." Her dedication was most important, in helping her overcome her difficulties, and pursue her dream. Miss Dawson's main struggle was thinking too much about what what other people thought of her. If I were her in this situation I would spend more time doing my homework, and less time thinking what other people thought of me. Here are two lessons that you could learn from Miss Dawson's life. Don't give up, and don't worry about what everyone else thinks. I don't think you can tell what Miss Dawson's like by her enemies because she is so kind and caring that she wouldn't have any. Two people who were very important in shaping her life were her mom, and her grandma. Her mom was important because she was a stay at home mom who cared and loved her kids. Her mother was also a good example because she volunteered at the school, and volunteered with animals. Her grandma was also a good influence because she was widowed at the age of 45, and she raised three kids. Not to mention, she also had to run the family farm. She was amazing! Miss Dawson had followed her mother and her grandma. They were both very influential!!!

Things about Miss Dawson (I drew it myself.)
Things about Miss Dawson (I drew it myself.)

To me, being a hero is great acts of kindness, passed from one person, to another. Miss Dawson is a hero. She's a hero, because she puts a lot of hard work and perseverance into teaching all kinds of kids. A hero is different from simply being well known because they are people who are very selfless. They want to help others. People don't have to be good to be famous. They can be very bad and achieve fame. Miss Dawson does have heroes. They are, her grandma, and Princess Diana. She has always lived in Calgary. My hero, Miss Dawson, is still alive. She is living in Calgary. She goes to the University of Calgary. She is working on getting her teaching degree. Miss Dawson does have family members still alive. She received a science award in Grade Twelve. This was a great achievement, as science was a subject she really struggled with. I chose Miss Dawson as my hero because of all the great things she does for other people. She is very inspiring. I have learned that if you persevere you can succeed.

Miss Dawson has a fiance; his name is Sean Louge. She enjoys watching hockey. Her favorite team is the Calgary Flames. One of Miss Dawson's favorite things to drink is Starbucks Coffee. She loves animals. She has one dog ... and two cats. Miss Dawson's grandpa had a hero. He was Sir Winston Churchill. When Miss Dawson was in grade five, she did a report on Princess Diana. Indeed, Miss Dawson is a great hero.
