Ken Ham (www.christianpost.com/.../index.html) |
A hero is someone of distinguished courage or ability who is admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. A hero is not someone who is perfect in every way, but someone who knows what they are good at and focuses on enhancing it. Once the ability is polished to the highest standard they become successful. Everyone has someone they look up to as their “hero” and my hero is a guy named Ken Ham. He is an evangelical scientist who applies the Bible to science. Ken Ham is my hero because he is brave during debates, knowledgeable in what he believes, and bold in his statements.
I look up to Ken a lot for his bravery in engaging in some of the debates he does. He goes up against people with hard core atheistic beliefs and can calmly converse with them and listen and explain when appropriate. He also debates evolutionary scientists. This is totally amazing to me because I don’t know how he can keep up with them and all their scientific facts, but he can. He stays with them and not only replies to their questions about the origins of the earth, but he uses their own scientific facts against them. He knows many of the evolutionary science flaws and when he points them out, there is nothing they can say because they know he has a valid argument.
Ken Ham is a very smart and knowledgeable man, not because he went to college for science, but because he knows the Bible and how to apply science to the Bible. He has researched and conducted many studies on the origin of the earth. He believes the earth was created in a literal six days which means that our earth is young, ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 years old. This is not a popular belief in society today, but he knows a lot about science and the complexity of everything and he makes a valid argument for a young earth. Ken has a bachelor’s degree in applied science with an emphasis on environmental biology. He is also the president of Answers in Genesis.
This man is also very bold in his beliefs. He is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in. He has so many facts, though, to back up his beliefs that he has no reason to be silent. He is a vocal advocate for a young earth and he takes a lot of negative criticism for this belief. Ken holds cross country speaking tours and conducts many seminars on topics that are “touchy” in churches. He is big on apologetics which he believes an essential part of teaching in churches across the world. Apologetics defends the foundation of the Christian faith.
Ken Ham is an amazing person that God has gifted in his abilities of being a brave, smart and bold person. He knows what he is talking about and how to make scientific terms easier to understand. This man is very good at what he does and the Lord is using him. Ken Ham is my hero because if I could dream about anything, it would be to someday be like him.
