Kat Von D

Kat Von D is a true inspiration. She stands up for what she believes in, no matter what. Kat strives for her goals and achieves feats no one thought she could. But the most outstanding trait Kat has is her ability to never, ever back down.

Kat first began her tattooing career at Sin City Tattoo, a small shop in her neighborhood. Later, she moved on to Blue Bird Tattoo in Pasadena for a year then on to Red Hot Tattoo in Arcadia. A store named Inflictions, a shop out in Covina, Ca., was home to a talented crew of artists, who helped Kat become even better. Many shops later, Kat opened her own shop, LA Ink. She was an up-and-coming tattoo artist, entering and forever changing a man-based industry.

Search all around, search as much as you want. It'll be hard--near impossible-- to find a worker with the heart and strive like Kat Von D. Though she is one of the most busy artists in all of California, she takes her time with each and every tattoo she does. Even when she was attempting to break the world record for 'most tattoos completed in a twenty-four hour period'. Kat did 400 tattoos within twenty-four hours. Each tattoo completed with such grace and quality, you couldn't tell it only took Kat about thirty seconds to do.

Kat's ability to never back down sets her aside from everyone else, undoubtedly. She has faced many hardships in life. One of those hardships would have to be the building of her store, High Voltage Tattoo. While she was building the store, Kat had to build a team of tattoo artists. The store wasn't coming along quite how it should and her team of tattoo artists were shaky. But, with Kat's determination, everything worked out. Her shop was ready for business, Kat was then ready to take the industry by storm.

In addition to the reasons I've provided, there are so many other things to admire about Kat. She has taught me to embrace my talents. Kat has inspired me-and many others-to above all, believe in yourself. Seeing Kat strive for every goal and never back down is a truly inspiring thing. She is a hero, through and through.
