Ken Whisenhunt is a common day NFL coach that has many of the qualities Abraham Lincoln possessed. These qualities include being looked at as a good Christian man and being a successful football coach for the Arizona Cardinals. Whisenhunt is a considered a strong leader through many peoples eyes as was Lincoln.

Lincoln represents a strong person who served our country well as the 16th president. Ken Whisenhunt is a strong leader but in a different way. He never led our country but he has led something else very well. This something is the Arizona Cardinals. The 44-year-old man was hired as head coach on January 14, 2007. In the 2008-2009 season the Cardinals are going to their first super bowl as the Arizona Cardinals with a record of 9-7-0. Whisenhunt has taken the Cardinals through the NFC Championship with a win against the Eagles and on to the Superbowl against the Steelers.

Ken Whisenhunt has impacted my life as well as others because of his ability to turn a program around. He turned the Cardinal’s from a sorry team to a Superbowl contender. He shows that with hard work and persistence anything can happen. At the beginning of this season no one ever expected the Arizona Cardinals to make it that far and now they are in the Superbowl. Ken Whisenhunt is a good respectable Christian man that has done great things with a football team, and that is why he is my hero.

Everyone should want to act like Ken Whisenhunt and be proud to possess qualities like his. If people act as a leader like he is than they would make it very far in life. Whisenhunt never gives up and works hard at what he does. This is very much like Lincoln was so that is why I compare Ken Whisenhunt to Abraham Lincoln as being my modern day hero.
