Kevin Garnett (best-nba-wallpapers.blogspot.com) |
In this essay, I’m going to tell you about my hero, Kevin Garnett. He’s played in the NBA for the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Boston Celtics (My favorite NBA team.). Read on to find out more about him.
On May 19th, 1976, in Greenville, South Carolina, Kevin was born. He was the 2nd of 3 children. He fell in love with basketball in middle school, but didn’t start playing in an organized league until High School. He led his team to a 28-2 record during his senior year of High School. He was named the High School Player of the Year by USA Today. He was also nicknamed “Mr. Basketball”. After attending High School, he was declared eligible for the NBA Draft.
Kevin was drafted in 1995 by the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves. He was the first player to be drafted directly out of High School since 1975. He was the youngest NBA player in history at 19 years and 11 months of age.
In the 1997-1998 NBA season, Kevin became a franchise player. During that season, the Timberwolves had their first winning season in history (45-37). In the 04-05 season, He was put on the 2nd All-Star team. In 2007, he was traded to the Boston Celtics with a 3-year contract. In the 07-08 season, he led the Celtics to their 17th NBA Championship. In the 08-09 season, he started all 57 games that he was able to play in. He couldn’t play in the playoffs because of a right knee injury.
In conclusion, I think that Kevin Garnett is a great hero. He also participates in the NBA cares. In 2004 he also was eligible for the Olympics. Thank You!
