To define a hero, to me it would have to be someone who's overcoming something. who's had to get through a lot to get where they are now. Someone who you can look up to and for me that one person would be, Katt Von D. She is an amazing female tattoo artist who went through a lot to get where she is now.

Katherine Von Darachenberg was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico in 1984. When she was four her family (brother, sister, dad and mom Rene Drachenberg and Sylvia Galeano) moved to the United States in Colton, California. Katt Von D is German and Spanish-Italian. Her first tattoo was on her ankle when she was 14 she did the tattoo herself. Her first tattoo on someone else was not long after. It was a misfit skull. Her first job was when she was 16 years old, working for Tim Hendricks. In 2007 she moved to Hollywood, California. She started working at True tattoo's and later on at Miami ink shop, in Miami, Florida. Katt dropped out of high school and was going through a lot of ups and downs but she managed to pull through. She is known as the most famous female tattoo artist from across Canada and the United States. She's tattooed many celebrities (Davey Havok, Eric Balfour, Mike Vallely, Ryan Wombacher, Scott Danough, Brandan Schieppati, Derek Youngsma, Bam Margera, Ville Valo, Steve-O, Frank Iero, Jenna Jameson, Nick 13, Jeffree Star, Scott Ian, Nicole Richie, and Eve.) Katt Von D is also sponsored by the soda company, Jones Soda.

Katherine Von Darachenberg is creative because she expresses herself by her style, and she is not afraid to be different. Responsible because, she opened up her own tattoo shop and every thing's going good. Friendly because, she is nice to the people that she tattoo's. Skillful because, she's got a great talent, and she is very artistic. Easy going because, if you want to change something around or re do something a different way, she won't stress out and get mad.

Katt Von D deserves to be called a hero because she went through a lot to get where she is now and it's hard for someone to go through that alone. On Miami Ink she was the only girl in the shop. She was known for the best black and white portraits. But after being in the shop for 2 seasons, she was starting to get fed up with the fact that she was stuck with guys all the time. There were also personal differences with her and Ami the owner of the shop. Katt opened up her tattoo shop in L.A this year. She has a show also called "L.A Ink".

Katt Von D has worked hard to get where she is, and there are not very many female tattoo artists in L.A with such great talent. She is my hero because, I can look up to someone like that. Tattoos are something I love. It's great art that can be on your skin forever.
