Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a peacemaker. He inspires us because he showed us freedom for everyone. He inspires me to be brave because he had the courage to treat everyone equally. He was born in Atlanta. His “I Have a Dream” was one of the most important speeches he shouted to all the listeners. His father was a pastor. King married Correta Scott in 1953. Dr. King lived in an era when the leadership is even less credible than today. Dr. King clearly understood what the Christianity in the Bible taught. His life was devoted to challenging this nation to live out a more consistent obedience to the moral absolutes of the Bible. In late 1967, King initiated a Poor People’s Campaign. On April 4, James Earl Ray assassinated him. He was assassinated on a hotel balcony. Dr. King was a great hero.
