"I shall commence at the battle of Queenston where I was at the time
cannon balls were flying about me in every direction. I left the place
during the engagement. After the battle I returned to Queenston and then
found my husband had been wounded, my house plundered and my property
destroyed."
I choose
Laura Secord because without her Canada wouldn't be Canada. During the war of 1812 some Americans
forced Laura Secord to let them into her house and make them dinner. While they
were in her house she overheard them talking about making a surprise attack on
the Indians. Early in the morning
she snuck out of the house and she ran and walked to the Indian campsite to let
them know that the Americans were planning to attack them. If she hadn't done this, the Americans
would have attacked and Canada would be part of the United States.

Laura Secord was born on September 13, 1775. During the war of 1812 she lived with her husband James Secord in Queenston, Upper Canada. They had seven children. James had been wounded in the battle of Queenston Heights.
| Laura Secord saving Canada (I made it (I did)) |
Laura Secord is my hero because it must have taken a
lot of courage to run out like that because if the Americans had caught her
they would have killed her. She
was very caring, helpful and kind because she cared for James Secord when he
was wounded. In the end because of her bravery and loyalty to Canada, Laura Secord
told the Indians that the Americans were about to attack and Canada is now
Canada instead of part of the United States.
