Why I Chose Laura Secord: I chose Laura Secord because my social teacher (Mr. Belsey) always shows my class and I videos of Canadian heroes .One day he showed us a video on Laura Secord. Laura Secord was amazing and a true hero in my eyes. She risked her life for our country. She was a good hero for me to choose.

Her Personal Life: Laura Secord was born on September 13th 1775. And sadly died at the age of 93 on October 17th 1868. Laura Secord was the first child of the Thomas family. She was born in great Barrington, Massachusetts. When she grew up she also became a mother. She married a man named James Secord and they had children!!! Their names were Charolotte, Mary, Harriet, Charleset, and Appy. They were one big happy family.

12 accomplishments in her life: Laura Secord had many accomplishments in her day such as............................. 1: she was an amazing and caring older sibling to her other siblings. 2: She was an amazing wife too! 3: She had 5 children 4: She never gave up when her family was poor 5: She became a nurse to soldiers that were injured, she turned her home into a little hospital. 6: She listened to the Americans' conversations and found out their plan. 7: She ran through the bitter cold at night without freezing. 8: She remained VERY calm when she was in danger. 9: Made it to Canada safely! 10: Convinced the Canadians she would do no harm to them. 11: She told the Canadians about the attack coming up and they believed her. 12: SHE SAVED THE CANADIANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Conclusion: I hope you learned about Laura Secord if not already but I know I did. I know I already said this but Laura Secord risked her life for our country. There are many other heroes in this world but she was the kind that would die for other people. Laura Secord inspired me to save someone and I hope that from this she inspired you too!
