Lindsey Stirling, born September 21st, 1986, is known for her popular Youtube videos, her most popular reaching over 45 million views. But, to me, Lindsey is not just any old violinist. She is a true inspiration, and to me, a hero. She has taught me to be who you want to be, and not what everyone else wants you to be. Lindsey is unique, talented, and everything I see in her proves to me that she is a hero.
I first found out about Lindsey when she auditioned for America's Got Talent several years ago. I was in awe as I watched her not only play the violin, but dance along. I continued to follow her on the show, until the semi-finals, where she was sadly disqualified. Having been told she "would never make it as a solo performer" and she "could never fill a theater in Vegas," I was offended. I had never seen a person with that sort of talent. So, after Miss Stirling left AGT, I decided to subscribe to her Youtube channel, lindseystomp. That was several years ago. Now, Lindsey has hit over one-million subscribers, released her own website, and has been on three tours; two nation-wide, and one international. Now, why do I see her as a hero? I see her as unique, and not afraid to be herself. She'd rather help and do good for others before doing good for herself. When in New York on a tour, 250 people could not get in to see her concert. Afterwards, she did a special concert just for the people who couldn't get in. Lindsey also visited a tribe in Africa, as seen in her "We Found Love" violin cover music video. Miss Stirling is also a previous anorexic, and that was something she released just recently. The amount of courage it would take to admit something like that is infinite to me. She is an idol, and I believe she contains every quality of a hero.
