John Lee Tae-Seok

The word 'HERO' usually brings mind abnormal creature or famous person in movies. Like superman or hulk. They are all acknowledged as powerful and unique person. On the other hand, there are so many not famous people have done task people should concern alone. I think HERO is a person being courageous to do what they desire. Also, person has a lot to learn. In my perspective, real hero is 'Lee Tae-Seok.'

He is a real volunteer who helped strangers in true heart. Although he could earn money as a doctor, he determined to go volunteer in Africa. Especially in Sudan in Africa where many civil wars had occurred. It caused many patients to come to him, didn't matter age or time. Young soldiers to old soldiers visited him any time. There was a young soldier injured in the middle of dawn. It wasn't big injury. And Tae-Seok worked for whole day and was tired. However, he treated and looked after him sincerely. If I were him, I could wait until the next day. But he was real volunteer who highly values all people.

Tae-Seok was a smart and brave person who would go run into hardship. After he went to Africa, he decided to make Sudan an essential place to help them. So he decided to build a place like a hospital and school. However, there were no resources and people to help him. So he persuaded residents around Sudan to help him. Residents living there didn't care about him at first. However, he persuaded them continuously. As a result, they have done amazing tasks that should be done. They made bricks themselves and built a school and hospital. It made me learn there could be always way to solve problems. I should not give up easily and work hard.

Tae-Seok was a person who could look out for the future. He knew education is really important and Africa needs it. So he made up classes and educated young children and students. He also built a dormitory for students who wanted to learn more. Finally, two of his student graduated university in Korea. In addition, he was talented in music. He taught music to students and organized a Band called 'Brass Band'. Although there were many instruments, he taught each person how to play. It made people warmer and people peaceful.

And last, these days, technology is a big part of nations and the world. Tae-Seok was a person who knew that the use of technology was essential. He needed electricity to run the hospital and school. So he used sunlight to make electricity. He was a really clever person that there are so many things we should learn from him.
