Leonardo Da Vinci

"Who is your hero?" is a question commonly asked throughout your life. My hero Is Leonardo Da Vinci. During his life Leonardo Da Vinci was a famous inventor, even though most of his inventions couldn't be made at the time, and an amazing artist. Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in the small town of Vinci not that far from Florence. He was born to Piero Da Vinci and Caterina. Leonardo's birthplace was near the fortress like village of Vinci about 20 miles from Florence, Tuscany. Leonardo Da Vinci is my hero because he is intelligent and one of the best artists ever.

Leonardo Da Vinci is someone who I consider my hero because he is the definition of intelligence, artistic, and inspiration. One of Leonardo Da Vinci's character traits is intelligence. In "Leonardo Da Vinci-The Complete Works" the author states that," As an engineer, Leonardo's ideas were vastly ahead of his time. He conceptualized a helicopter, a tank, concentrated solar power, a calculator, the double hull and outlined a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics. Relatively few of his designs were constructed or were even feasible during his lifetime, but some of his smaller inventions, such as an automated bobbin winder and a machine for testing the tensile strength of wire, entered the world of manufacturing unheralded.[d] As a scientist, he greatly advanced the state of knowledge in the fields of anatomy, civil engineering, optics, and hydrodynamics"(Leonardo Da Vinci-The complete Works).Leonardo da Vinci was an amazing inventor at his time because he was making such advanced machines for his time. He studied so much to get his ideas for his inventions. For example he sat and studied birds for a long time in order to learn how they fly and properly make his flying machine. Also in "The My Hero Project-Leonardo Da Vinci" she also says," His discoveries in the fields of mathematics, sciences, astronomy, and, most all, his inventions and ideas that include the helicopter, diving suit, modern tank, first parachute, airplane, paddleboat, swinging bridge, and even the automobile, have become part of our modern world.(Alex)" Leonardo Da Vinci has proven his intelligence just by what he has invented. He was making things that we have only made somewhat recently. For example some of Leonardo's ideas include sketches for the airplane, helicopter, and the modern tank. Very few of these inventions the people of his time could have actually made. Leonardo Da Vinci has proven he was smart through his inventions and his ideas of the future.

Another character trait that Leonardo has is Artistic. In the book," Leonardo Da Vinci-The Complete Works" the author states that," It is primarily as a painter that Leonardo was and is renowned. Two of his works, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper occupy unique positions as the most famous; most reproduced and most parodied portrait and religious painting of all time, their fame approached only by Michelangelo's Creation of Adam. Leonardo's drawing of the Vitruvian Man is also iconic. Perhaps fifteen of his paintings survive, the small number due to his constant, and frequently disastrous, experimentation with new techniques, and his chronic procrastination"(Leonardo Da Vinci-The complete Works). Leonardo Da Vinci was by far one of the best artists in the world. He made some of the most famous works of art like the "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper" have both gotten awards for how beautiful they are. He has so many unfinished paintings that were lost, forgotten, or destroyed but they were all good. In the book "Leonardo Da Vinci", by Francesca Romei, says that, "Leonardo was assigned the task of painting the head of one of the angels and the landscape behind the angels. Stories say that Leonardo painted the angel so perfectly Verrocchio decided to give up painting and broke his paintbrush as a sign of surrender to his young student's superior skill"(Romei). Leonardo da Vinci was an amazing artist so good in fact that he surpassed his mentor at the age of 17.His mentor gave up painting because of how good Leonardo was which is so amazing. Most people wouldn't do this or even think that the people they teach could be better than them. Leonardo Da Vinci was an amazing artist who had such skill from a very young age. He has made some of the most famous works of art ever.

Leonardo Da Vinci is an inspiration to me because he has some character traits that I have but want to be better at. On the website, "Leonardo Da Vinci-The Complete Works" the author states that," It is primarily as a painter that Leonardo was and is renowned. Leonardo da Vinci is inspiring to me because of his non-stop effort to build inventions that would help the world and eventually become modern day items. Such as his ideas the hydraulic lift which used a series of locking bays that would fill with water lifting the boat to the next bay. Also in the on "The My Hero Project-Leonardo Da Vinci" Alex, the author, writes that," His discoveries in the fields of mathematics, sciences, astronomy, and, most all, his inventions and ideas that include the helicopter, diving suit, modern tank, first parachute, airplane, paddleboat, swinging bridge, and even the automobile, have become part of our modern world.(Alex)" Leonardo is a great artist he made so many beautiful works of art. He even has some of the most famous and most reproduced art as the quote says, which amazes me. As you can see I think Leonardo Da Vinci is a true "renaissance man" he is smart and an amazing artist. He is something that I strive to become every day.

So as you can see Leonardo is a hero through his Skills as an artist and his intelligence. Leonardo Da Vinci has shown his that he has intelligence and great artistic skill through his inventions that were way ahead of his time and his most famous works of art. He is a renouned artist even decades after his death. Also some of his inventions have only just been made today. Leonardo Da Vinci inspires me to be just like him. I want to have impacted the world as much as he did and maybe more if I can. Leonardo Da Vinci changed the world with his art and could have changed it even more with if he had made some of his inventions.
