NBA star LeBron James is rushing down court, straining to go faster and faster with a determined set to his jaw and the time burning down to zero.  His team is down by one point. LeBron picks up the speed and takes flight into the air as the buzzer goes off.  With wisdom and skill, he dunks a perfect "Loss Left" from the free throw line to win the game. And this is why LeBron Raymone James is my hero.  His determination, wisdom and sacrificial nature are outstanding.

LeBron Ramone James was born December 30, 1984, and is an American professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association. LeBron's determination was to become one of the most sought after NBA players. His determination helped him win a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics and a Gold at the 2008 Olympics. He was NBA Rookie of the Year in 2003-04 and named NBA MVP in 2008-09 and 2009-10.  LeBron met his goal and more.  Nicknamed "King James" he was number one pick in the 2003 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In the year 2010 LeBron made a wise decision to become a free agent.  Some people criticized LeBron and called him a traitor to his hometown when he left the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat. LeBron thought that it was a wise move, and he could focus better on the team that he was with and focus on winning a championship. He finished second in the league during his first season with the Heat.

LeBron is also sacrificial.  When he was chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers  in 2003, the Cavs were one of the worst teams in the NBA. They expected LeBron to propel them to greatness.  He obliged them with a sacrificial nature and playing style to help his team win twice the number of games as the year before he went to play there. LeBron went to the Cavaliers because he thought that being a professional ballplayer was about more than being on the best team.  He wanted to help the team.  He has also worked to help others such as children and single-parent families in need. 

Those are some of the reasons why I chose LeBron Raymone James as my hero: his determination, wisdom, and sacrificial nature.
