My dad known as Teng Za Lee and my mother known as Pa Thao but since she is married with my dad is now called Pa Lee. My parents have been married for about 20 years or more. My dad was born in Laos/Thailand and my mom born in the same place. My parents are my heroes because without them I wouldn't be here in the U.S. right now. They are refugees because they both ran from the war from Laos, escaped to Thailand and were put in refugee camp. My mom at the age of 7 have ran from the war and my dad at the age of 6. They were both orphans and had a tough life but still managed to be able to come to the United States. Throughout 18 years living in US with 8 children plus me is 9, life was really harsh managing 9 kids in one apt. Still, my parents worked all day at the farm and sometimes coming home around midnight just making sure the crops had plenty of water. They were always the best supporters always supporting my brothers and sisters throughout school, making sure no one falls behind. Even still today my parents always work hard just for my brothers and sisters and of course for me. My parents are MY heroes.

Andrew Ly Yang born in North Carolina in the town of Hickory. He is now a senior at Sunnyside High School and 17 years old, 18 soon. Andrew isn't really part of my family, he's my boyfriend but even though he isn't part of my family he's always been there for me. We've been together for over 1 year now almost 2 and there are times I've had a lot of school or family problems, he is always the first one I turn to. He is my hero because whenever there are times when I feel like giving up, he always knows what's best and helps me get back up on my feet and keep moving forward. He helps me with my homework when I have too much to handle and even when there's a little only, he always makes sure I get it done before I do anything else. He helps me keep track on school and on daily basis. He keeps me company when no one else does and makes me happy when no one else can. Andrew is MY hero.
