Mario Lemieux

Mrio Limeux was a hockey player since he was a child .he dropped out of school at the age of 16 so he could play hockey .Mario was drafted first overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins.He was signed a three year contract with them.It was worth $1 000 000.He has been playing hockey with them ever since,and is now owner of the team.

Mario was born Oct 5, 1965 in Montreal, Quebec.His parents Jean-(Guy)and Pierette Lemieux.His siblings Alain and Richard.Later in life met and married Nathalie Asselin.They then had three children Lauren, Stephanie, and Austin.

On November 17/97 Mario was entered into the hockey hall of fame. After many tropheys mario had won two days after entering the hockey hall of fame he he announsed his retirement from the N.H.L.On September 3, 1999 Mario took over the Pittsburgh Penguins because they owed him a difered salary of $30 million.

On December 12, 2000 Mario announced he would be back on the ice and playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins. One of his reasons was so his children could see him play in the N.H.L. The first game he played during his comeback was against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They won 5-0, Mario scored 1 goal and 2 assists.

Since the first of the season Mario had played 24 games. He had 31 points (6 goals, 25 assists) for this season.One of Mario's victorys this year 2002 was captain leading team Canada to a gold medal. In 2003 he is back on the ice for another successful.
