The definition of a hero is a man or woman distinguished by exceptional courage and nobility and strength. The person I chose for my hero is Abraham Lincoln. I chose Abraham Lincoln because I think he’s different from any other president and he also fought for what he believed was right.

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12th, 1809 on the frontier of Hodgenville, Kentucky. He is known for being the 16th president of the Untied States. During the Civil War he fought to help free the slaves.

In 1863 on January 1st, Abraham Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. He wrote it during the Civil War, also known as The Great Event. Abe too was the first president to be murdered during office.

Living on the frontier of Kentucky, Abraham Lincoln had to struggle for a living and for learning. As he got older, he studied law and spent eight years in the Illinois legislature. A year after Abraham Lincoln won the re-election in 1864, he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth at the Ford’s Theater in Washington. And became the first president to be killed in office.
