Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809, in Kentucky territory. He died April 14, 1865. He was born in a log cabin and died in Ford’s Theater while watching a play. Actor John Wilkes Booth shot him in the head. He was 56 years old when he died.

Abe was a lawyer for part of his life. He ran for President and was elected in 1860 and he was the 16th President. He was a great person because he freed the slaves and created the Homestead Act.

During his Presidency, Abraham Lincoln created the Homestead Act. The Homestead Act was a contract where you could get a lot of land, but you had to take care of it. If you didn’t you would lose it.

Honest Abe inspires me by giving me goals. One of these goals is to enjoy your life while you have it. I would like to be Mr. Lincoln because I would like to be the President of the United States. He was smart and honest and I think those are great qualities to have! As you can see, Abraham Lincoln was someone who changed the world!
