Abraham Lincoln

by Ajdin from Des Plaines

Could you imagine being born in a log cabin and also living in the White house? Abraham Lincoln was born in a cabin and the White house. He was born in Kentucky in the city of Knob Creek. His parents names were Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Lincoln. He had an older sister named Sarah. Abraham's grandpa and his dad were both born in Rockingham County. When he was nine years old his mom died.

Abraham Lincoln and his sister went to school to learn reading, writing, and arithmetic. He had very little amount of school. So he read when he was farming.

After school he worked as a farmer and owned a store. He also shot a wild turkey. Later he became a politician and a lawyer. He was the captain of the Black Hawk War He turned out to be the 16th President. He married Mary Todd and had four kids.

The cool thing is that he’s on the $five dollar bill. John Booth shot Abraham Lincoln in the head at a theatre.

Abraham Lincoln inspired me because he wrote the Gettysburg Address. The Gettysburg Address was a speech to free the slaves. In his own words he said "I will never forget the Civil War."
