MY HERO TO HOST 2015 FOURTH FRIDAYS SALON SERIES
LOS ANGELES, CA - 1/7/15 - The MY HERO Project will continue its popular monthly Salon Series on the Fourth Friday of each month. The Salons will bring together community heroes, environmental activists, artists, musicians and not for profit leaders to discuss and explore important timely issues.
The Salon Series kicks off January 23, from 2pm – 8 pm, with a MY HERO open house for students, teachers and non-profit groups at our location in Santa Monica, California at the Herb Alpert Educational Village.
Everyone is invited to stop by and meet The MY HERO team, learn more about the organization and enjoy a lively discussion about the everyday heroes who are working for art and educational justice.

The public is invited to take part in the family friendly Salon Series, which is a combination of casual get-together and public forum. The Salons will feature guest speakers, film screenings, musical performances and lively discussion. MY HERO will be hosting a series of Salons will take place on the 4th Friday of each month in the early evening at the Capshaw-Spielberg Center for Arts and Educational Justice, in the Herb Alpert Educational Village in Santa Monica.

Each event will offer a current theme that echoes the Capshaw-Spielberg Center’s commitment to education and social justice. In honor of MY HERO's first anniversary in the Center, the first Salon of 2015 will celebrate people working for arts and educational justice.
The MY HERO Project is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that shares stories, music, art and short films about the everyday heroes from all parts of the globe. MY HERO uses the power of media and technology to inspire, educate and empower people of all ages. Each year, millions of students in 194 countries use this online educational resource to share and discover stories about people working to create positive change in the world.
The CENTER FOR EDUCATIONAL JUSTICE is the home to a dozen nonprofit partners who share the communal goal of providing educational programming for at-risk youth in Los Angeles. The partners were selected by the Coalition for Engaged Education. Coalition founder Paul Cummins was recently honored with the Educator of the Year Award at the MY HERO International Film Festival.
