Merieme CHADID

by Maryem from Essaouira

Today, it is my pleasure to give you just a glimpse of the life and achievements that characterize this person who actually is a source of inspiration to me. Merieme CHADID is one of those people in the world who have inspired me in many ways.

First of all, here are some information about her, she's a Moroccan women, born on 1969, she's from Casablanca she earned an M.A in Physics, and she continued her studies in France.

As a kid, she was fascinated with astronomy, it kept impressing her since her childhood. At the moment she's an engineer astrophysicist in France.

But what makes Her a special person to me is that she's the first women to ever reach the South Pole. She focused on her goals and made up her mind to accomplish her mission and handled responsibility and eventually, she made us proud of her. Merieme CHADID is a hero to me because she risked her life, and left her husband and two children behind her so she can represent women all over the world who have big dreams and want to make accomplishments in the areas they're passionate about.

She can be looked up to because of her :

Courage : she faced her fears and didn't let anything on anyone bring her down, so she went for it.

Determination: when Merieme took the decision of going through this thrilling 3 months mission, she totally accepted and with the support of her family, she had the opportunity to follow her dreams.

Adventurousness: it takes a lot of bravery to realize that you're leaving your home and family and you're going to the other side of the world where there's only conditions of extreme cold and isolation!

So I guess these are some qualities that made Merieme CHADID a special person to me and I'd love to make my ambitions come true just like she did.
