Marissa Dumont

Marissa Dumont is born August 31st 1986, she is my sister. At her birth she was 2 months pre-mature, her lungs had not yet developed. During many months she used machines to help her breathe. But in the end she and her twin brother grew with no further problems.

Marissa is only 21 years old but has already accomplished a lot. She has had numerous different jobs; she has also taken many different courses and has gone to school to become a paramedic. She has worked since she was very young. She has taken many part time jobs. During high school she worked as a lifeguard; she still works part time at the pool teaching lessons to younger children and future lifeguards. Since she was 16 she has been working at provincial parks. For a couple of years she helped maintain Halfway Lake Provincial Park, but she then took a course at Sandford Flemming College to be the park warden at Windy Lake. Last year Marissa was offered one of the most honourable jobs at Halfway Lake Provincial Park. During the spring she was responsible for most of the operations of the Parks. At this same time Marissa started another job in Sault St-Marie with a company called ANMAR. She worked here during the summer for 55 consecutive nights as paramedic in the health and security department. Marissa graduated at College Boreal with honours and now works with Sudbury-Manitoulin EMS. She is a person who definitely knows how to work hard.

Although Marissa has a very busy schedule, she still has many interests. She has a Jeep and a Ninja motorcycle that she bought herself recently. She swims often and keeps up a good exercise regime. During the winter she skis a lot. She also likes to spend a lot of time with her family. She loves to camp, fish and hunt. She has many more interests to keep herself active. She also does a lot for the community to help out as much as she can.

Marissa is not only my sister but also my hero because she always has ambitions that she accomplishes every time. She always follows her dreams with letting no one stop her. She’s a hard worker and I hope to be like her one day.
