"Be the change that you want to see in the world," (Mahatma Gandhi).  Mahatma was not only a spiritual leader of India but he was also a non-violent political leader who brought India to independence a very peaceful resistance. Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, India.  At the age of 18, Gandhi left his hometown, and moved to London which he studied law at University College of London. He had suffered from six known assassinations in his life time. Sadly, at the seventh attempt he was murdered at the age of 78 on January 30, 1948. Gandhi was one of the most successful people because of his way of leadership, bravery, and simplicity.

Mahatma Gandhi showed the world why he was a hero because of his great achievement of giving India freedom and then surprisingly South Africa: "Mahatma Gandhi is considered the father of the Indian independence movement. Gandhi also spent 21 years in South Africa working to fight discrimination" (Rosenberg).  While he was in South Africa Gandhi railed against the injustice of racial segregation for both India and South Africa. He did this by finding a political movement known as the Natal Indian Congress (NIC). He created this organization to nonviolently protest into a tangible political stance. When he returned to India he also used the NIC in India, "Although the NIC began as an organization for wealthy Indians, Gandhi worked diligently to expand its membership to all classes and cases" (Rosenberg ). This shows that even though the NIC was meant for wealthy people Gandhi made it so that all classes of India are able to get this opportunity.

Mahatma took many great risks in his life for his country, "He ensure several hardships, was arrested and occasionally beaten in his journey and struggle to justice and freedom," (A&E Networks). This proves that his braveness came from his heart and he had a big passion for his country and wanted it to become free for all people. Gandhi was the primary leader of India's independence movement and also the architect of a form of civil disobedience that would influence the world (99fm).  "Mahatma Gandhi studied law and came to advocate for the rights of Indians" (A&E Network ). This shows that even though Gandhi wanted to study law he had helped his country for civil rights

Gandhi was overall an amazing hero. He has done things people can't even imagine doing. He has showed everyone in the world a lesson of his work. He has inspired many people including myself by being much  braver, stronger, and most importantly a better leader. He has overcome every obstacle in his life. Gandhi will always be remembered and always known as a hero.
