My hero is Mahatma Gandhi. I consider Gandhi to be a hero because he had several characteristics that I admire including bravery, peacefulness, and leadership skills. Gandhi was brave because he helped win a war for his country by protesting peacefully. He participated in several peaceful protests that stood for what he believed in and the people listened to what he had to say. Even though Gandhi knew he could get hurt he still stood up for what he believed. Gandhi was a pacifist. Gandhi was rewarded for his peaceful behavior, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize many times because he fought for world peace and he taught the world the importance of kindness. Gandhi was a leader in many ways. He was the leader of India after he helped to win India's independence from Great Britain. Gandhi led the world to believing in peace through his teaching about peace and kindness. Gandhi's hardships throughout his childhood helped to form the man who so many admire. Gandhi was forced by his parents to get married at the age of 13 years old. At first, Gandhi and his wife, Kasturba, were not close and were very shy when with each other. Eventually, Gandhi grew to care for Kasturba and became very overprotective of her. He forced Kasturba to ask for permission before going to see friends. Gandhi often said no. Gandhi had a hard time being a good husband and a teenager at the same time. When Gandhi was sixteen his father died. This was very hard for Gandhi because he was young and needed a father. When his father died, there was a huge hole in Gandhi's life. When Gandhi was older, India fought against Great Britain for India's independence. Gandhi wanted India to be free from the British so he fought but instead of using violence, he fought peacefully with only his words and, in turn, India won. I am sure you are beginning to understand why Gandhi is my hero.

Mahatma Gandhi is my hero because he was brave. Gandhi was brave in many ways. Gandhi helped end a war that was fought for his country's independence. He did this without violence, only with his words. He inspired and motivated his fellow countrymen and women to stand up for themselves and their country by using word with meaning and not anger or aggression. Gandhi stood up for what he believed in even when he knew it could hurt him. Gandhi did whatever he could to help his country. He even took on an entire army by using forceful and meaningful words to support his argument. Gandhi went to prison defending the rights of his people. During a war that the Muslims fought against the Hindus, Gandhi used non-violent means to terminate the war. He did this with not only words but, also, by refusing to eat until the war stopped. Eventually, people realized that they had to stop fighting because a man was starving himself. They did not want to be responsible for his death. Gandhi's method worked because the war ended. These are just some examples that illustrate the ways in which Mahatma Gandhi was a brave man.

Mahatma Gandhi was a very peaceful person. Gandhi chose to fight for what believed without violence and with tremendous strength. Gandhi was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize many times. When Great Britain was under control of India the rulers made Indians not be able to sell salt because they wanted to be the only ones getting money. Salt was used often in India so this affected everyone. Gandhi opposed India's salt taxes peacefully by marching 240 miles in protest. Gandhi owned many places called farms where he taught people about peace. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. , a peaceful person himself, was influenced by Gandhi. These are just some of the many examples that show how Mahatma Gandhi was a peaceful man.

Gandhi was a leader. As mentioned above, Mahatma Gandhi led many peaceful demonstrations against Great Britain during the time that Great Britain wanted to take over India. Gandhi led and taught people to believe in peace by teaching them not to use violence and, instead, to use kindness. Gandhi became the leader of India after he helped India win independence from Great Britain. Gandhi led his country to winning a war without violence by standing up for what he believed in. Gandhi was such an influential and extraordinary leader that he helped the whole world become a more peaceful place. All of these reasons show how Gandhi was a superb leader.

Gandhi is my hero because he has made the world a better place. If Gandhi were alive, I am sure he would still be leading India, his country. Gandhi was always ready and willing to make sacrifices for others. Gandhi led his country to win a war against Great Britain for India's independence. Gandhi never used violence when standing up for what he believed in. When Gandhi was sixteen his father died. This was a defining moment in his life and a huge hardship that he chose to overcome. In conclusion, Mahatma Gandhi was a very brave, peaceful man who was also a leader.
