Matthew Gray Gubler

My hero, Matthew Gray Gubler, is a person who is talented at many things. Not only is Matthew an actor, he is also a director, sketch artist and a former fashion model. However, he is best know as the young genius Dr. Spencer Reid on the CBS crime show, Criminal Minds. He is very funny and,slightly crazy (considering he jumped over a fire pit...). For good luck he wears mismatching socks. He is extremely cute, awesome and has a great sense of humor.

Matthew Gray Gubler,was born March 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada. He graduated from the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies, Performing and Visual Art where he majored in acting because the school didn't offer his first choice, which was filmmaking. He also is a college graduate of New York University's Tisch School of Arts where he majored in film directing.

Matthew's parents were also both born in Las Vegas. His mother, Marilyn Gubler, was the first female to serve as Republican state chairman. His grandfather was the first president of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and founded the first radio station in Las Vegas (KENO). Matthew's sister is a fashion designer in New York, and his younger brother (by 12 years) was in the music video, Reagan, by Whirlwind Heat (directed by Matthew). Matthew also directed the music video for the song, "Don't shoot me Santa", by The Killers.

The reasons that Matthew is my hero is pretty simple. He has persevered through many schools and never gave up on his education. He can handle serious roles quite well and also be humorous. He willingly wears pink hats in public. It is quite interesting I think that he is somewhat superstitious in that he does not wear matching socks, as his grandmother told him that mismatched socks bring good luck. The first time in many years that he wore matching socks, he twisted his ankle badly. Matthew has many good qualities that make him my hero... and it doesn't hurt that he is also really cute.
