Do you have a hero, a special person that means a lot to you? Well I do. Her name is Margaret Peterson Haddix. She is my hero because of her perseverance to write new books, her inspiration that got her to write the books, Found, and all the Shadow Children books, and her colorful vocabulary. That is why Margaret Peterson Haddix is my hero.

Margaret was born on April 6, 1964 near Washington court House in Ohio, on a livestock farm. She had 3 siblings, an older brother, a younger brother, and a younger sister. Eventually she went to Miami University in Ohio. She got a bachelor’s degree in English/journalism, English/creative writing, and History. Her father’s job was a farmer and her mother’s job was a nurse. Later on when she had her first job she was in the newspaper business. She now lives in Columbus, Ohio. Margaret is married and has two kids: Meredith and Conner. Her first book was published in 1995 and it was Running out of Time, and her newest book Palace of Mirrors which came out in 2008 is one of my favorite books.

One reason Margaret is my hero is because she has an extraordinary sense for writing books. The way she uses the simplest words in a sentence just flabbergasts me in so many ways. All her books have this sense of mystery in every word, and sometimes I’m so anxious with what will happen next I have to close the book or I will go crazy! It’s so suspenseful, exciting and page turning in every way.

The perseverance that she has is so great that, even when she has no ideas for her next book, she doesn’t just give up and walk away. She thinks and thinks until she figures something out for that type of the book. Every single one of her books is no different than each other, but they are all different in so many ways. Her colorful vocabulary is what inspired me to read.

Margaret Peterson Haddix is a very good author in my opinion. Her colorful vocabulary, perseverance, and her inspiration are amazing. Among the Hidden was the first real book that I read, and that single book got me reading for the rest of my life. I will always tell people about Margaret Peterson Haddix and I will always remember that first book. That is why Margaret Peterson Haddix is my Hero.
