A hero is someone who people look up to. They don't have to be famous or well known. A hero is a person who is special to someone. It can be the president, a movie star, or even your mom. They all have one thing in common though. Bravery, courage, the willingness to put others before them, and to never give up.

For some people it is important to have a hero, but not everyone. I have a hero, but that doesn't mean that all of my fellow classmates do. Heroes are for people who want a figure to look up to, and maybe be like. A hero could be very important for some people, but non-existing for others. It depends on what kind of person you are.

Marcus is the hero in "When You Reach Me". It is not revealed until the very end of the book that he is the hero. "Of course, he's the total hero of the story." (Stead 193). It isn't until the very end that you realize that the story is not told by the hero's point of view. "44. You saved Sal's life. 45. You were the laughing man." (Stead 162). "Marcus is the magic thread. You are the laughing man. You are Marcus. Marcus is the laughing man. Or he will be, when he's old." (Stead 189). Marcus uses time-travel to go back in time and save Sal's life.

Marcus should be inducted into the Hero Hall of Fame for many reasons. One reason is that he risked and gave his life to save someone else. Also, he figured out time travel. You have to be really smart to do that kind of thing. Marcus also is a good student and is generally nice. those fine reasons are why Marcus should be inducted into the Hero Hall of Fame.

Answer - My hero is Albert Einstein because he is the father of modern physics, and I really like thinking about the theory of general relativity and time travel.
2. What do you think makes a person a hero?
Answer - I think what makes a person a hero is the willingness to give their life for someone else.
3. Do you think that you would be willing to give your life for someone else?
Answer - I think if the situation depended on me, I would.
4. Who is one of your real life role models?
Answer - My older brother, because he taught me how to live and see other people.
5. Do you think time-travel is possible?
Answer - I think that in the future it could happen.
6. What do you think makes a hero?
Answer - I don't think I'm a hero, I just do the right thing. 7. Do you have to look like a hero to be one?
Answer - No I don't think so because it's about what they're doing not what they look like.
8. Does someones background change your perspective of them as a hero or not?
Answer - It could if they had been to jail or were a bad person or something. 9. Why is it important to have a hero?
Answer - I think that it's someone for you to aspire to be like.
10.Do you think famous people are good heroes?
Answer - Yes, sometimes I do, because my hero is famous. Not all famous people though.
