Milton S. Hershey was born on September 13, 1857 in rural Pennsylvania. Hershey had the education of a fourth grader. Hershey then moved to Denver, Colorado and learned the art of making chocolate with caramel at his caramel factory. In 1905, Hershey created the legendary company: Hershey’s Chocolates, after moving back to Derry Township in Pennsylvania. Hershey then made an entire community with a bank, stores, parks, and a zoo. During the Great Depression he added even more such as a grand hotel and a sports arena. Milton had opened a school originally for orphaned white boys, and it later opened for girls and people of color. That is why Milton S. Hershey is my hero.

Hershey died on October 13, 1945. The Hershey legacy still lives on today. The town of Hershey has became a major tourist attraction. After Hershey's death his many companies that bear his name have continued to grow and prosper. Hershey's many branches contain Reeses, Hershey Kiss-ables, and the genuine Hershey milk chocolate bar. Hershey's products have been a favorite with kids and adults too. The Hershey legacy will forever live on.
