Miguel Hidalgo

by Alvaro from Spring

Miguel Hidalgo de la Costilla was born in May 8, 1753.  As a Mexican priest, Miguel Hidalgo was assigned to
a church in Dolores, Mexico. He was killed by a firing squad on 30 of July 1811.

When he headed to his first stop, Hidalgo and Allende left Dolores with about 800 men, half of whom were on horseback after his speech, Gritos de Dolores (the Cry of Dolores).

He was the head of the military movement and he died at the age of 56 and he helped to make the constitution of Mexico and he gave  freedom to his country.

He was the first president of Mexico during the independence  and he was  a priest in Mexico in a church in Dolores; and in 1810, he gave his famous speech of Gritos de Dolores.

Miguel Hidalgo is a hero for me because he gave freedom for me and my country forever. He made a revolution for the better good of people and he was the first president of my nation. He spoke for the people about the Spanish government that came to Mexico.
