Caring,
fairness, citizenship, responsibility, respect, and trustworthiness, these are
the six pillars of character. Michael Jackson known as the "king of pop" had
all of those six pillars. Not only was he a great entertainer he was a great
man. Born on August 29, 1958, he started to sing and dance when he was just
five years old. Jackson might have been just a kid when he started but his
heart was bigger than the world. Jackson was always a leader, he always liked
to motivate people and push them to do better and better. Since Jackson started
at such a young age he was the best at what he did by the time he was in his twenty's.

One
of the reasons Michael Jackson is my hero is because he is a giving person. He
was a founder and cofounder of many charities. "In 1992 he founded "Heal the
World" to aid children and the environment" (Jackson). Michael really cared
about the environment and the poor of the world. He gave lots of money to charity programs
since he was privileged to have so much money. Michael also promoted
humanitarian support. "In 1993 he was presented with the "Living Legend Award"
at the Grammy Awards ceremony and with the Humanitarian of the Year trophy at
the Soul Train awards" (Jackson). Again this shows how Michael was not just
wasting all his time and money on his own empire like other celebrities in
Hollywood. These are few things that show how Michael never forgot about the
unfortunate.

Michael
was also a very hard-working person in and out of work. Michael worked hard as
ever even after he had his first child Prince Michael Jackson, Junior. "Despite
the demands of fatherhood, Jackson continued to keep a busy schedule during
1977" (Michael). Even after Michael had his two kids he still worked tirelessly
with such a busy life. He sold millions of albums and always thought he could
do better than before. Starting from the age of 5 Michael was dancing and singing
on stage. "From the age of five, Michael's amazing talent asserted itself; his
dancing and stage presence caused him to become the focus of the group"
(Michael). Michael was under a lot of pressure from a very young age to perform
well. He was the 5th out of nine children in his family. This is an
inspiring trait of Michael because even though he was very talented, he showed
that if you work hard enough you can achieve your dreams.

Michael
was also a trailblazer who broke the color-barrier and sang about troubles in
society in his music. In many of his songs he sang about problems in the world
such as racism an violence. "One of the songs on the album, "They Don't Care
About Us".was supposed to "say not to racism, anti-Semitism and stereotyping" (Michael).
Michael was not afraid to sing abou things like police-violence and racism that
was occurring a lot during 70's and 80's. When some people thought one of his
songs to contain anti-Semitic lyrics he immediately apologized to the offended
and tweaked the lyrics. After his trio of hit songs from the albums "Beat it,"
"Billie Jean," and "Thriller," Michael became the major pop icon of the 80's.
"The spectacular success of the Thriller album and video enabled him to break
the color barrier of album-oriented radio stations and the powerful music video
channel, MTV" (Michael). Not only was Michael Jackson a great artist, he was
also a man who broke the boundaries in which no one in his race had done
before. Most people didn't judge Michael by his looks, but by his incredible
singing. He also did the same thing in one of his songs called Black and White.

Michael
Jackson did many great things in his life such as charity, helping out the poor,
donating money to hospitals and so on, these are just a couple of the many
great things he did. Michael Jackson is my hero and inspiration because I really
like dancing and it would be a dream for me if I can ever even do one of his
famous dance moves. He is my hero because if I ever get as rich as him I wouldn't
lose myself in all of the money and go crazy just like him, he always set a
goal for himself and got that goal done, I would donate a lot of money to
people in need just him, I would donate to hospitals or schools in need just
like he did and so on. Michael Jackson was a great man, he left use a lot
earlier then he should have, may he rest in peace.
