Fashion! Seasons pass and trends change and this is the man for the job! Michael Kors is an amazing fashion designer and I first got to know of him from Project Runway. Project Runway is a fashion show on television in which Michael Kors is one of the judges. He inspires me because the words he speaks to the other contestants may be harsh but it's very great advice. Kors' career relates to what many people want to do with their lives. Such as having their own label or helping others out. As well as judging for a fashion show, he has his own label, and he started a breast cancer research project with Heidi Klum, who is the host of Project Runway. His actions are what makes him such a strong and moral person.

Michael Kors puts most his effort and time into his own label called MICHAEL Michael Kors. Michael also works as a judge on Project Runway and gives his money to a research company that helps breast cancer. In order to become the new Michael Kors, you need to go to some type of fashion university and study fashion design and merchandising, depending on which one you want to do. Merchandising is holding the fashion events, retail stores, management, store displays, and trend research. Fashion design is all hands on work such as, sewing, construction, and course designing. There are three salary outlooks for being a fashion designer. The lowest is 30,000 than the average salary is 60,000 and the highest is 110,000. The outlook for a designer is tricky and the competition is fierce. The demand for the fashion designer business is increasing everyday. The greatest opportunities will come in large mass-productions. Being a fashion designer comes with talent and passion just like Michael Kors himself.

As a young boy Michael always was involved with the ideas of fashion. From then you see his talent and what his career will look like as he is older. In his youth years Michael did lots of clubs with sewing and fashion designing. He had set his mind on fashion as a teenager. He went to Fashion Institute of Technology and studied fashion design. He started his fashion career at age 19 designing and merchandising at a Lothar's in NYC. His ideas were praised by many critics and soon Michael had the courage to go out on his own and create his own label. In 1981 he made his own label doing American sportswear. In 2001 he launched his accessories collection. Michael Kors currently does all sorts of fashion items. Michael has been in fashion for 32 years. Michael Kors is known around the world for his amazing designs.

Michael Kors contributes to the society as well as to the fashion industry. He started a breast cancer research fund-raiser with Heidi Klum, the host of project runway, because they wanted to make a difference. They are really making it work as the two of them team up with Saks Fifth Avenue for their annual Key to the Cure campaign to raise money for women’s cancer charities. Michael has created a T-shirt that the supermodels will wear in a national public service announcement featured in major fashion and lifestyle magazines through the months of September and October of 2009. This shows how much Michael can contribute to the society as well as the fashion industry. In the fashion industry, Michael contributes by giving advice to his contestants on Project Runway. Michael has it all: the looks the money and especially charity work.

Michael Kors is my personal career hero and with these steps, I'm determined to be like him. I will start with doing my best in all subjects. Math is important for fashion because of the measurements you take. I will join many fashion clubs and sewing classes and take art and photography to get a good idea of what I need in the future. In college my goals are to go to a university of fashion designing and merchandising and study fashion design. In my lifetime I will do my best to help the needy and give back what I spend. I want to start an organization to help the children in Afghanistan. I want to use all my abilities as best as possible and extend my brain the furthest. I want to live my life to its fullest and become a better person on the way. I want to travel to places I’ve never heard of and make a difference in this world. That’s what I want to do and even though it seems like much, I can do it. Anyone can do what they set their mind to... just like Michael Kors.
