My hero is the famous American white rapper, Marshall Bruce Mathers. Most of us now know him is Eminem or Slim Shady. He was born in St. Joseph, Michigan, on October 17th, 1972. When he was born, Marshall’s father walked out on his family and left Eminem with his mother, Deborah, to survive on their own. Until he reached age twelve, Eminem lived with his mother between St. Joseph, and Warren, which is a suburb of Detroit, where Eminem would later meet Proof, a future rapper in D12, which stands for Detroit twelve, or the Dirty Dozen.
To me, Eminem is a great hero. He didn't look at the fact the he was poor, didn't look at the fact that he could barely feed his daughter, he didn't care that he was white, and he didn't care about what else life threw at him. He had a dream to become a rapper and despite all the troubles and obstacles that he had to get over, he followed his dreams and didn't give up.

When Eminem started his whole rap battling period of time, another emcee named Proof, decided to start a rap group with all the best emcees in Detroit. Eminem, Proof, and another rapper were the first ones and they made an underground called Infinite. When Proof showed this album to rapper and producer Dr. Dre, he instantly became interested in Eminem. After meeting him, within an hour or so, Dr. Dre signed a contract with Eminem to Aftermath Records and from then on, Eminem's career exploded. His dreams came true and he was finally doing what he dreamed of.
Those are the reasons why Eminem is my hero, because he is determined, willing to do what it takes, a hard worker, and he believes in himself despite the odds life threw against him. He is now rich and famous and he has about seven albums out in stores and all of them sold millions. In conclusion, Eminem is not only a rapper, but a hero!
