Michael Patrick Murphy, or what his teammates knew him by "Murph" is one of the most hardworking, trustworthy and caring Navy seal that has ever fought. Michael was the first Navy Seal to get a Medal of honor since world war 1, which was a very big deal because that's the highest award you can get in the army. He was willing to sacrifice his life for his "brothers" above 10,000 feet on a mountain on June 15 2005. He is a very hardworking man who just wants to keep the world and his "brothers" safe.

Murphy's courage was recognized after he sacrificed his life to save the lives of his teammates, he always cared for other people and those few moments on that mountain showed that very clearly. "you know dad i'm not looking to get killed but god forbid if it should happen, understand it happened doing something i loved, and i'd rather that then sit behind a desk for 30 years and hate my life" {Morganne Mallon } This quote from "murph" shows that he just wants to do the things he loves, even if it means losing his life. Like he said he would rather be risking his life for something he loves than be sitting behind a desk and doing something that he hates for the rest of his life. "Lieutenant Murphy who was 29 and engaged, is the first member of to receive the medal for service in the war of Afghanistan"{Raymond Hernandez} He was a very committed and caring man. He always knew when to do the right things at the right times, just like on that mountain, he knew exactly when to run out and make a call for his brothers to get them home safe, even if it meant losing his life for them.

He is very caring for his brothers by his side on the battlefield, he would do whatever it takes to make sure that all of them get home safe on every mission wherever they are. "Despite just being under just six feet tall and having a slight build for a seal, childhood friend Owen O'callaghan said Michael worked hard to achieve his goal, doing push-ups and running in combat boots at the lake where the two worked as lifeguards and trained after getting off of work." Michael has always been a hard working man, whatever he has done he has put his best effort into it. He always got along with people wherever he is, whether it's in the Navy seal base or just a small town bar, he just always got along. He is just all around a great guy. Everything he does is just so inspiring because he just wants to do good and he wants to be the best at it, whether it's helping a fallen soldier across the field or just helping out a lady across the street on his free time. He is just a great guy. "He led a four man special reconnaissance unit that was secreted into the Hindu Kush mountains along the border, and was reported to have been trailing a high-ranking terror leader near 10,000 foot peaks when they were ambushed and overrun by scores of insurgent fighters". {Elizabeth Reed} He knew exactly what the right thing was to do and when the right time was do do it. Michael was a very good decision maker, he would do whatever he has to do get his boys home safe and that is exactly what he did on the top of that mountain. The things he does for his brothers is remarkable, he just puts his all into everything, he doesn't do half of anything in fact he does more than half, he does it all and puts his best effort into it while doing it.

Michael Patrick Murphy is one of the most hardworking, caring, and most compassionate navy seal you will ever meet. Michael is one the first soldier to get a medal of honor since world war one, which was very impressive. One thing he said when he was talking to his dad about what he wanted to do was, "You know dad I'm not looking to get killed but god forbid if it should happen, understand it happened doing something I loved, and I'd rather that then sit behind a desk for 30 years and hate my life" {Morganne Mallon} Michael is just so inspirational because he just wants to do what he loves for the rest of his life, he knows what he doesn't want to do and he doesn't want to be like the people who hate their jobs and work their for the rest of their life. I relate to this because I was playing soccer since I was 3 and I just didn't like it when i reached 10 years old and that's when i knew i loved the sport volleyball, so he just found his place to work just like I found my sport to play. Michael knows exactly what he wants to do and he's also not afraid to do the right thing even if others think it's the wrong decision and that's what makes Michael so inspirational.
