Michelle Obama

by Leslie from Lawrence

My hero is beneficial and can't and won't stop improving life today. If you couldn't guess my hero is Michelle Obama. Michelle was born in Chicago, IL on January 17, 1964. She was born to Fraser Robinson, III and Marian Shields Robinson. She also had a brother named Craig Robinson. Her husband is the president, Barack Obama and her daughters are Malia and Sasha Obama.

In 1981, she graduated from Whitney Young High School and in 1988 she earned her J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree in Harvard Law School. Later on, in her life she met Obama. Barack and her married in 1992, they had two daughters: Malia (1998) and Sasha (2001). During high school, she went through a struggle. She felt lonely because she was one of the few people who were black. But, after that she accomplished some major things like getting her J.D. from Harvard and being noticed for advocations for poverty awareness, nutrition, and healthy eating. Another one of her major accomplishments is that she is a fashion icon role model for women.

Michelle shows heroism every single day. First of all what people don't know is, she saved the lives of people everyday because she used to work in hospitals. When she's not working in hospitals she does generous deeds like when she helped her husband run for president or when she made an organic garden for her family to eat healthy. She also toured a cancer ward and donated her time to help out in soup kitchens and homeless shelters.

Michelle always is generous, selfless, and dedicated. She's all of these things because of the things she can do and does. When she donated her time to visit homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and even toured a cancer ward that showed generosity. She's also selfless, she helped her husband run for president and win and advocated on behalf of military families. Michelle is also dedicated. Michelle worked on an organic garden by herself for her family to eat healthier and she committed herself to reverse the trend of child obesity by making the movement, "Let's Move" and still has that movement today.

Right now Michelle Obama still has these heroic qualities. She still has her "Let's Move" movement to reverse the trend of child obesity. Michelle advocates for living a healthy life and diet almost everyday and you could even see her movement in Disney Channel commercials. Michelle is also working on her promotion of arts and education. Michelle teaches us lessons everyday. She shows us that if we believe we can or we want something, with a little dedication and strength we can have it. All we have to do is believe. Doing what we believe we can do makes us a leader. Something that Michelle Obama is a leader. She's a hero; she's my hero.
