"Brave", one of the songs that is inspired by Moriah Peters. She has had many ups and downs in her life. She uses what she has learned and puts it in her music. She has walked through many doors. Though many of those doors have been closed, Moriah has reached her potential. She has many supporters and has grown spiritually and as a musical artist.

Moriah was born on October 2, 1992 in Pomona, California. She was raised in Chino, California and Ontario, California. She was raised by her parents Anthony Moreno Peters and Patricia Castillo Peters. Moriah Peters started writing music at the age of thirteen. In 2010, she went and auditioned on American Idol. She was only a senior in high school. The judges loved her voice, but they didn't think she was Hollywood enough. She had never kissed a boy in her life. She stood on her beliefs even though she wanted to take a chance on that opportunity.

Though that door was closed, another one was open. Soon after the audition, she made connections and created a three song demo to give to record labels. She was certainly surprised because all of the labels made an offer. From there, she has released many songs that are uplifting and spirited. Further in the road she had some struggles between her and her boyfriend Joel Smallbone from the band For King and Country. She wasn't sure how she would be able to balance her life. She was touring and her was touring. She was questioning whether she would be a good wife or not. She would be on the road separated from him. Would it even last? She has gained strength and now knows how to have a stable career and marriage. Now she is married to him and "It was one of the most beautiful day of my life" she says.

Later after her marriage, she fell ill and she had to go to the hospital. The doctors said that it may be leukemia. That news was quite frightening. Moriah Peters was shaken by the report. She and her family had been praying and she was finally diagnosed. Her illness was an unknown virus that still remains a mystery. She learned that anything can happen to you no matter what age. Though things may take a wrong turn, it is important to choose faith over fear. What she went through with contemplating and fear is the heart of her song "Brave". She had to take courage and trust in God in those tough times.

Moriah Peters wants to encourage her fans and give them hope. She has compassion for them and wants her music to have a positive effect on them. Without the struggles she has gone through, her music wouldn't be as effective on people as it is. I think she is a hero because of her bravery. I think that without her trusting and believing in God she wouldn't be where she is now. She doesn't write her music from out of the blue, but with passion and with a message to tell. She wants people to be steady even in the toughest of situations. She inspires me to do my best and stand strong. Just because an opportunity is lost it doesn't mean there won't be another around the corner. Her music is empowering and has value. She encourages me to follow my dreams and let nothing stop me from getting to my best potential.
