Molly Pitcher

by Megan from Atlantic Highlands

What made Molly Pitcher a hero? Molly Pitcher was a hero because she was in the Battle of Monmouth. Also after her husband died she took his place at the cannon station in the Battle of Monmouth. I chose Molly Pitcher because she seemed cool and fun to learn about.

Some things I learned about Molly Pitcher is that she was in the Battle of Monmouth. She was born in 1754 and died in1832. Her husband's name was William Hays. Her 2nd husband was George McCauley. Molly Pitcher was born in Trenton, New Jersey. She fought for the Americans. Molly Pitcher got moved up to the canons after her husband died in 1789. One major event was she got married twice.

Molly Pitcher was smart and kind to most people. This proves that she was kind. It says that when her husband and other soldiers were wounded, she helped to tend them. She also was brave and heroic. A lot of people like her. She would try never to let someone down.

As you can see Molly Pitcher was cool, awesome, and brave. She cared and was always ready to do something that was unexpected. She is so important in my opinion. I think she is so that I am writing a story about her at home. She is awesome from my point of view. i am glad that I'm writing about her. I will try to remember this information.
