Malcolm X

Malcolm was born as Malcolm Little and later also known as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1925. His father died when he was six years old. He was assassinated: February 21, 1968.

He was an African-American Muslin minister and a human rights activist. He worked as a leader for the Nation of Islam. He did have a criminal life, which makes some people wonder if he was a true hero. He was in jail for eight to ten years.

In 1960 he was ask to speak at several African nations. He wanted complete separation of the African Americans from whites. He left the Nation of Islam and converted to the Sunni faith. He continued to speak for the black people and and black nationalism.
