My hero is a dancer. Not just any dancer, but one that changes people's lives through inspirational dances and hard work. My hero is Maddie Ziegler. Maddie Ziegler was born on September 30, 2002 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Once Maddie turned two, her mom decided to sign her up for dance classes at the Abby Lee Dance Company where she trained in tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, acro, jazz, and aerial dance. Later, her younger sister named Mackenzie joined dance, too.
After a while of dance, Maddie's coach named Abby Lee Miller had some exciting news. She told the dancers that they were going to be on a dramatic dance TV show called Dance Moms on July 13, 2011. Maddie was very excited to be able to show people how hard she worked. Once the show started, Abby Lee began to pick favorite dancers. Maddie was one of them. To add more drama to the show, Abby decided to make a pyramid that kept track of how the girls were doing at dance. The bottom of the pyramid had the dancers who did bad that week, and on the top was the best dancer. That was usually Maddie. Maddie began to feel bad for her friends at dance so she made sure to support them.
That year, Maddie's dance team did competition. Maddie won a lot because she started to become very dedicated and practiced dance whenever she could. People began to watch the show and everyone loved Maddie and became inspired by her hard work! The fans began to follow in Maddie's footsteps and work as hard as they could, just like Maddie! Which is why Maddie is a hero today. There are stories that Maddie inspired young people so much, they asked their parents to sign them up for dance so they could be like Maddie.
As time went by, Maddie gathered inspired fans and followers. Abby thought this fandom was making Maddie famous, while Maddy thought of her fans as normal friends! Abby wanted to get Maddie more fame, so she made Maddie audition for pop singer Sia's music video "Chandelier" Maddie got the part and her fans were thrilled. That lead her on to star in all of Sia's music videos like "Elastic Heart" and "Big Girls Cry". Other directors saw that Maddie was a great actor and she was able to perform in things like "Drop Dead Diva", "Austin in Ally", and "Pretty Little Liars".
A few years later, an inspired young girl who just experienced brain surgery came to the Abby Lee Dance Company because Maddie invited her after hearing that the girl couldn't jump or dance anymore! Maddie gave her a private dance lesson (although it was just some easy moves) and let the girl come to watch her at a dance competition. Maddie won first place at the competition and got a huge trophy, which she gave to the girl after giving her a big speech. Maddie may not have stopped terrorist planes or saved someone's life, but she's done little things that have made big differences, which is why she is my hero.
