Heroes are rare these days, many confuse heroes with celebrities and many people don't have heroes. One man deserving of being called a hero is Mark Zuckerberg. Mark Zuckerberg was born in 1984 in Dobbs Ferry, New York. Ever since he was young he was always a talented programmer using the programing language BASIC. Mark Zuckerberg is a hero because he connected the world and made it easier to keep in touch with anyone and is very caring and generous when it comes to donating his money to charities.
Mark Zuckerberg had a programming tutor named Davin Newman. When he was young he created his first known program he called ZuckNet, which his father, Edward Zuckerberg, used at his dental office to announce new patients. Mark Zuckerberg went to the preparatory school Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire. In high school Mark Zuckerberg began programing a music software he called Synapse which would become the app Pandora. After graduating from Phillips Exeter Academy in 2002 he went to Harvard and soon after began work on the website Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg is a hero because he is a very caring and generous man when it comes to donating his money to charities. Mark Zuckerberg, soon after his movie "The Social Network" was released, had "donated $100 million dollars to the Newark, New Jersey, public school system, saying that he was worried that teaching was not properly compensated or respected in American society" (Learner 1). Zuckerberg was worried about these children's education and so he decided to give to them. Another showing of his caring is when "Mark Zuckerberg announced that he plans to eventually donate 99 percent of the Facebook stock owned by him and his wife, Priscilla Chan, shares that are worth about $45 billion today, making it one of the largest-ever philanthropic commitments" (Frankel 1). This shows that Mark Zuckerberg cares for people other than himself. All this evidence shows that Mark Zuckerberg is a very caring person.
Another reason Mark Zuckerberg is a hero is because he made it easier to communicate and keep in touch with people all across the world. This is very apparent because "By 2010 Facebook had 550 million members" (Newsmakers 1). By 2010 Mark Zuckerberg had already connected millions of people across America and had made many people's lives easier. This number got even bigger because "by the end of 2013 it boasted 1.23 billion active monthly users worldwide" (Riggs 1). By 2013 he had connected billions across the globe and even more join every day. This shows that he truly is a hero for making it so that anyone can get to know anyone anywhere.

Mark Zuckerberg made a reliable way to keep in touch with people across the world and has donated billions of dollars to charities all across the world. He is one of the very few real heroes left in the world. He is a caring and smart person who is an inspiration to many people. Mark Zuckerberg should be an inspiration to everyone. And if all this doesn't convince you he is an inspiration Mark Zuckerberg,"Donated some of his gains to charitable causes, including $75 million to a San Francisco hospital in February of 2015" (Newsmakers 1). Instead of just keeping his money for himself, he plans to donate almost all of it to charities across the world. He also created a website that allows anybody to talk to anybody around the world. Mark Zuckerberg is a hero and will be known as a hero for a long time.
